A simple dinner can be a good dinner. This is fish skewers, rice, and homemade Japanese pickles.
From right to left: The pink one is radish with orange and fennel seed and is NATURALLY colored from its own skin. That's also pink jello from its sauce. The white one is napa cabbage with lemon juice and zest and is a Yamagata local family recipe from our friend. The dark one is cucumber with bonito, rice vinegar and our home-made soya sauce. The last one, the yellowish one, is daikon in Kyoto style, made with honey, yuzu juice and homemade apple cider.
Huh. Simple looking, but actually quite complex.
