Now graduated, I'm proud to publish this final photo from my capstone project. As a business major at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the capstone project is to assemble a consulting team and work over three months with a local business to gain hands on real experience.
As the team lead, I was given the opportunity to find the business the team would work with. From my love of mead, I requested to work with @superstitionmeadery
and they graciously accepted.
Over the semester, the team met with Superstition owners regularly and engaged in observation roles to locate areas of improvement. By December, a multi faceted business plan was presented offering unique solutions to problems likely to be faced as Superstition grows, planning methods for supply chain, lean and 7S production possibilities, and contingency plans for continued operations after catastrophe.
This was a fantastic opportunity for my team and myself and working with such a finely tuned company truly added the challenge of looking for hidden potential improvement rather than obvious problems. As a mead enthusiast and home brewer, there would have been no better final project with which to complete my bachelor's degree.
